Description:
This free webinar offers a look at the recently completed Smart Energy Profile 2 (SEP 2) standard. SEP 2 provides IP-based information and control for energy management in Home Area Networks (HANs), for both wired and wireless networks. SEP 2 supports new capabilities such as control of plug-in and hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) charging, deployments in multi-dwelling units such as apartment buildings, support for multiple energy service interfaces into a single premises and support for any transport based on IETF IP compliant protocols.
Webinar attendees will be given an overview of the SEP 2 standard, learn the features and benefits and gain a better understanding on how to implement the standard to create innovative applications for energy management in the home. Attendees will hear from technology experts who will articulate how this technology represents a major step in empowering consumers and extending the smart grid into the home.
